“Faith” - Matthew 8:5-10

Image
Let’s take a look at what Faith looks like to Jesus.  In Matthew 8:5-10 we read about the Roman soldier and his understanding of who Jesus is and his authority and power. I will highlight words in this passage and would ask you to read the words and see just how pleased Jesus was  When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him,   “Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.” Jesus said,  “I will come and heal him.” But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.   I know this because I am under the authority o f my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers .  I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this, and they do it.” When Jesus heard this , He was amazed . Turning to those who were following him, he said,  “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this

My 2023 Testimony

Isaiah 41:10.  “God Is with You” Have you ever asked God, “Where are you?” Some days it can feel like you’re walking alone through life. It can seem like God is not present or with you. Or maybe it feels like He has deserted you in a difficult time. The nation of Israel experienced many moments like this. They cried out to God in the midst of pain and exile. They were honest in their prayers to God—they told Him exactly how they felt in the midst of hardship. In turn, God spoke to them through the prophets. He spoke words of comfort and hope. He reminded them of His promises, and that His character never changes. While it can sometimes seem like God deserts us, we know from His promises that He is always with us. Through life’s loneliest times or most difficult seasons, God is right next to us. He walks through every season of life by our side.  Not only is He with us, but He also promises to strengthen us and help us in times of difficulty. When we feel like we’ve run out of strength

Micah 6:8 “He has shown you,  O man, what is good;  And what does the Lord require of you? 1) But to do what is right …. (Our conscience is a wonderful thing if it’s influenced by God) 2) To love mercy … (We need to mature in this area of mercy, which simply means “show mercy to others, just as God’s mercies are new everyday towards you) 3) And to walk humbly with your God” (daily reminder to not think so highly of ourselves)
