What is Apostasy? 🤔

Image
WORD 4 TODAY    1 Timothy 4:1    The Great Apostasy “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,  Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron (conscience is dead) 😵  “ Apostasy ” means the abandonment, to turn away from, to renounce .. Apostasy is the rejection of Christ by one who has been a Christian". It is a theological term describing those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned their faith in the God.  "Apostasy” is the antonym of conversion.. Oreoeza, a theologian who has studied “apostasy” in the church; states reasons that people have turned away from their belief: 1. Doubt … 2. Persecution … 3. Hardship and Suffering.. 4. False doctrine (twisting the Word of God so that it conforms to what they want) … 5. Negligence towards the things of God ..  6. Engaging in ungodly ...

Ultra Challenge

Image
In life we can expect different challenges. Many times they do help us to grow up, mature and learn from them. But on Saturday, 6/21/2025 @ 6:00am, strange folks were out at Liberty Park in Cerritos getting ready for either a 1st time marathon, 1st time ultra run and some older folks just doing what they love … RUN It was the perfect day for running. The weather was in the 70’s and the sun was hiding all morning long, til about noontime. I enjoy running because in long distance running you have time to challenge your body and your spirit. Not everyone has the spirit to put themselves in tough challenges, just because you want to see how it feels, or want to see if your body can endure it, or just because you need that push in life! Running is like life. You have to overcome obstacles. Weather, pain, fear, anxiety, bad days, alone with your thoughts and just holding on to your sanity. Well at yesterday’s race I meet older runners just coming out for the challenge and to see some of thei...

WORD 4 TODAY - Psalm 103:13

“ The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him” Excellent words of encouragement for us! We just celebrated our earthly fathers yesterday! We are blessed to have an example of what a Father role is & what obligations and long suffering it takes to be a hands on father;  We see the pressures and toll that fathers must endure, for the sake of their families. Such a blessing they have been! But as children of God we have the love, protection and care of our Heavenly Father! The differences are much better.  You know that God the Father has a plan and a future for you. A life of good and with hope! I believe that Our Father’s love is greater because He is the example of perfect love!  Think about it!  Who has the promise of eternity? Who has created everything we see and touch, and did it for our pleasure? Who can erase our sins and lead us on the path to do what is right? O there are many reasons to...

Luke 21:7-13

“The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”    Proverbs 29 : 25   Did you hear that Israel dropped a bomb over Iran’s nuclear weapons station on Thursday. Yesterday Iran retaliated and sent missiles over Israel. Times are getting dark!  Know the signs of the times..    Luke 21:7-13 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen?  What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?” He replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming,  I am the Messiah, and saying, The time has come! But don’t believe them.  And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don’t panic.  Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won’t follow immediately.”  Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.  There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there ...

WORD 4 TODAY - Colossians 3:13

“bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do” This reminder is short and to the point. But how many will choose to ignore these wise words? 1. Bearing is to carry.. we all have those who may be weaker than us. Let’s not shun them or cast them to the wayside. But rather, learn how to pray 4 them. 2. Try to give them godly instruction, a good word of hope & encouragement in the season they are in. Then it will be up to them as to what they do.  Forgiving One another  This command will hit you right where it will hurt the most!   1. Pride - we don’t want to forgive!  The flesh wants to hold this over that person who has hurt you. And you want to protect yourself from getting hurt again.  Your excuse will be that “she/he needs to prove to “me” that they are really sorry”.  Again it’s your flesh making excuses for your wrong attitu...
