Genesis - "In The Beginning"

Image
12/23/2025 Good morning Margarita. Just finished reading Genesis 1 - 3. Wonderful reminder of the goodness of God and the grace of God; because He made man in His image which was perfect. Adam had a pure relationship with God for he was created “perfect” and placed in a perfect world where everything was “good”. Here is my insight from chapter 3: 1. Genesis 3:4 - the serpent’s plan and purpose, was to destroy all the “good” that was created. 2. The serpent’s lie brought sin, (and a curse upon all the earth), 2 Genesis 3:7 Eve wanted to be wise, but the lie and her disobedience brought them shame. They were no longer pure or perfect. They gave up their freedom and perfect world. “What would a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:37 3. Adam’s disobedience brought “death” to this world. Verse 3:21 - God made a covering for their sin by sacrificing an animal that would cover their sin and shame. 4. Genesis 3:23 Their disobedience broke the sweet and holy relationship that they both ha...

Please Join Our Prayer for 2026 - Philippians 3:8-15

12/21/2025 Thank you, Lord, for lifting me up from the pit of despair, loss and grieving. I am ready to "let go" of the past things that I've held on to. Lord, cleanse away, throw out, clean away, push aside, get rid of all those things that You are asking me to "leave behind". My 2026 desire is, that I may be set free and ready to travel lighter in the coming New Year.  Our Prayer for 2026   Philippians 3:8-15 "Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ   and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;  That  I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,  if, by any ...

My Prayer for You in 2026

Word of Encouragement     Psalm 34:18-19 " The Lord is near the broken-hearted; He is the savior of those whose spirits are crushed down. Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all.   Psalm 34:18-19   WORD 4 TODAY  There are moments when pain hides beneath a practiced smile, when the world moves on but your heart feels frozen in place.  You laugh at the right times, nod through conversations, and carry on as if everything’s fine, yet inside, a storm rages that no one seems to see. But God sees.  The psalmist reminds us that the Lord draws close to the brokenhearted.  Not when the tears stop, but right in the middle of them.  He doesn’t wait for you to pull yourself together;  He steps into your silence, sits beside your sorrow, and whispers,  "You are not alone.” Even when words fail and prayers feel heavy, God is listening.  He collects every tear like a prec...

Word For 2026 - Learning to Live Humbly

Image
Wednesday, 12/17/2025 Have you ever met an angry Christian?   You may have come across Christians who love to grumble, complain, or even speak harshly about other people. Maybe you’ve even been that person at times in your own life. If we're not careful, we can easily become self-righteous within Christianity.  After all, we know the truth and others may not. You might see how tempting it can be to look down upon other people, demean them, or consider them as worse off than ourselves. But this misses the point of the gospel of Jesus.  The gospel tells us that all of us begin at the same starting point. And it’s only through grace that we come to salvation and learn the truth about God’s love for us. That doesn’t make us any better than other Christians! In fact, as Paul says in Ephesians 4:2, we should actually be humble and gentle with others, rather than harsh and critical. He says we are to be patient with one another, helping one another in every way that we can so th...

Thursday, 12/11/2025 like  Job 12:10 , (stating God holds the life of every living thing) Psalm 23:1-3  (God dictates our future, and daily events, as seen in passages) “The Lord is my shepherd;     I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.  He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, that brings honor to Him name” and Proverbs 16:9 Good and wise Solomon reminds us, “We can make our plans,  but the Lord determines our steps” Josh, you belong to God. He watches over you and does not slumber (always present) when it comes to His own. Therefore, let your heart be at peace and continue to send out resumes! Gods ways are not like our ways! And His plans for us is always for our good… Isaiah 55:8-9 Son, let me be your Father that knows what is best for you. I know the beginning all the way to the end!  Therefore r...

Goodbye My Friend - Irma Romo

Image
In this lifetime we have made many friends. Some are neighbors, others are colleagues, some school buddies, etc. As they walk onto our path, we do not know the impact that they will make in our lives.  Some, like my neighbor Irma Romo, a dear neighbor for over 21 years. We watched our children play together, grow together, get into mischief together and eventually grown up into their own. Today, I want to say "goodbye" to her. As she is making her way into a new journey, I sit with her children and grandchildren and listen to their tears, their grief and their stories. It is difficult to let go of a loved one. We do not want to feel the loss of their departure. We cannot see ourselves moving forward without them. But yet, this is exactly what Irma and life has prepared us for.  Looking back at my own losses, I clearly understand their emotions and their anxiety of "how do I move forward?" Yes, it is our natural emotions to not want our loved ones to leave earth, but...

Word 4 Today - Colossian 3:23

Image
“Whatever work you do,  do it with all your heart.  Do it for the Lord and not for men” This means that all work should be done with  your whole heart and effort, with the primary motivation being to please God, not people.  It encourages Christians to see their labor, no matter the task, as an  act  of service and worship to Jesus Christ, who is ultimately in charge.  This perspective means working diligently and honestly whether others are watching or not, as God sees all and rewards accordingly.  King David once said, “I rather fall into the hands  of the LORD, than man” Wow, God is kindness and mercy. You have a chance to “make it right”. With man, forget about it! Man has no mercy,  no compassion,  no long suffering,  nor genuine love for one another. Which side do you want to stand with? “Thank you Heavenly Father for your faithful  love and tenderness towards Your children, amen”

Throughout the Old Testament, God delivers the people of Israel from many different situations.  He acts miraculously in bringing them out of foreign nations. He even provides water and bread for them in the wilderness. However, the nation of Israel grew disobedient, and distant from God and His law. They ended up turning away from God, and part of the reason was because they failed to remember. They failed to remember the great acts of deliverance God did for them. They failed to remember the miracles that He performed in their midst. They failed to remember that He's good and present and loving towards them.  But thankfully, there were also people throughout Scripture who developed a spiritual habit of remembering God’s work from the past.  When times became difficult, or when things seemed dark, they took the time to remember how God had previously acted toward them.  The writer of Psalm 9 was one of them. The Psalmist begins this song by doing two things... First...
