A Changed Heart

Image
Please allow this sweet melody to minister to your heart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6fheuBf0Pk Do you remember the story of Naaman and how the Lord healded him from his leprosy in the book of 2 Kings 5:1-19? The story ministered to me in the way of “ watching as God calls forth those that are hurting” . I will do my best to walk you through my mind’s understanding of this exciting story. I pray that you enjoy this read. Naaman means “pleasantness” NAAMAN A successful Syrian general, high in the confidence and esteem of the king of Syria, and honored by his fellow-countrymen as their deliverer, who was afflicted with leprosy. Upon hearing from a Hebrew slave-maid in his household of the wonder-working powers of an Israelite prophet (Elisha), he set off to find this prophet. He at first haughtily resented the humiliation and declined the cure, but had a change of heart as his servants pleaded with him to go out and see about this healing. Let’s read together ...

Please listen to this beautiful song and let it speak to your spirit. Enjoy!    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNzxE8X-pvA    A personal note from this writer . Calvary chapel is where I have been since 1998. I came to meet Jesus in a Pentecostal church meeting in 1987 and after growing in the   grace and knowledge of the Lord,  my spiritual journey lead me to a Calvary Chapel where through hearing and learning the Word of God on a weekly basis I continued to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.    This week's theme will be on the beginnings of the calvary chapel movement.  Enjoy! In 1965, Pastor Chuck Smith began his ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with just 25 people. From the beginning, Pastor Chuck welcomed all, young and old, without judgment, placing his emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God.  With a sincere concern for the lost, Pastor Chuck made room in his heart and his home for a generation o...

Archbishop Thomas Cranmer Part 2

Image
Listen to this song and cast all fears on the One who knows you by name. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NHQJWdXfFE At the end of Part 1 of this biography, Archbishop Cranmer was imprisoned because of his stand and belief in the Reformation. Tides were turning against him now and he is being asked to renounce his stand and he will live. Unknowingly, Archbishop Cranmer is being lied about his freedom if he renounces his faith and teachings.  As we finish up the story of Thomas Cranmer, let us remember that we are mere humans, falling short at every turn. We too, will someday have to make a confession of our faith. What will you do when asked to renounce your faith or die?  I honestly don't know if I have the courage to stand. My prayer this year will be that God strengthen me in my spirit and confirm His Word in my heart, so that when I am asked to stand or die, that I can boldly say, let me die for Jesus Christ.
