Welcome to 2016
I
would like to extend an invitation to you to join us on this new journey in
2016.
I
truly believe with all my heart that 2016 will be a radical and challenging
year. Not only in America with its year of electing a new president, but also worldwide!
We
are seeing more and more chaos and evil present within our American borders and
we are hearing more about oppression and persecution of Christians worldwide.
We cannot be so foolish as to think that these things will not happen in our
cities, communities or state. Think and consider just how fast our morals, laws
and values have declined within the last 10 years! And what about the increase
of prejudices, wars, terrorism, church scandals and shootings all within our
borders.
As
Christians we are told to watch and pray for we will see more wars and hear
rumors of war, but not to be troubled – Matthew
24:6.
I
pray that we will hear the trumpet sound calling the Christian to fasting and
prayer in 2016. It is time for God’s people to come together with one mind and
in one accord and begin to pray more and seek God’s Word for direction and
guidance in these days of Noah.
Let
us take up 1 Thessalonians 5:16 -17:
“Rejoice
Always and Pray without ceasing.
The
New Living translation reads:
“Always
joyful. Keep on praying”
Let’s
put into action this scripture in our lives this year and let us use our mighty
weapon of Prayer. As we put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11 – 18) let
us commit to make a stand for The Lord Jesus Christ with prayer and fasting
this year. Let us also desire to keep it simple and real with the Lord.
May
we continue to rejoice and keep on praying!
Blessings
to you,

2016 Pray N Fast
Vision
The
vision for fasting and prayer is not new for us. Prayer has been taught in our
churches and we have been called to fast and pray as a group of believers.
But
what if we call for your commitment and ask for accountability? Will this
frighten you or challenge you? That is how this journey began for me.
We say we
desire more of Jesus, therefore let us commit to more prayer. We have so much
that we can pray for: ourselves, our homes, our church, our nation and our world.
I
want to invite many to join us in this commitment for prayer and fasting. I
would ask that you tell your friends & family about what you want to do
this year and go one step further and invite them to join us. What a beautiful
picture the Lord will see and be pleased as we come together in worship and
prayer. Please pass the Word.
Let
us make a banquet table fit for the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. That when He looks down upon His
children, that He will see many faces from different churches all rejoicing in the Lord together with a heart to pray more this year. What a heavenly banqueting table for Him here on Earth!
You
can even step it up a notch (as Emerald would say) and you can place your name
on the 2016 Prayer Calendar to fast on any day. We will be praying for you on
that day as you are praying for others. How wonderful it will be if the Lord
can see us united as one in prayer and all for His glory.
Prayer
really works and God is faithful to hear the cry of His children. We all have
many prayer requests and they are important to God. If you wish to share your
prayer request you may add it onto the Notes portion of the calendar and we can
all be praying with you. Please be sincere about your request. Prayer is a
privilege that we do not want to take lightly. Keep your request simple and
real.
