Come Back Kids - Chapter 10

Just returned from a women's retreat and truly it was a blessing
for me in so many ways. Awesome opportunity to see my church family and catch
up with so many ladies that God has placed in my life.
As we talked about what God is doing in our lives, one thing
stood out above all else, "A mother's heart for her children." I use
this word "mothers" gently because I am certain that fathers have
the same reaction as a mother when it concerns their children.
I believe the difference between a mother and
a father is that God made mothers a bit more
tenderhearted in regards to her children. Perhaps there's a bond between them
because she brought them forth from her womb with excitement as well
as much pain?
A mother has a special nurturing way about her that helps her to carry her concerns for her children deep within her heart, just like Mary did about the young boy Jesus.
A mother has a special nurturing way about her that helps her to carry her concerns for her children deep within her heart, just like Mary did about the young boy Jesus.
We see in Luke 2:19, "But Mary kept all
these things and pondered them in her heart."
How blessed mothers are and how difficult it is when things are
not right with her children. Hence, our Come Back Kids. When
our children are outside of the will of God, it can sometimes be very
discouraging for a parent. At times we wonder if they will ever come back to
their senses? How far must they need to go before they realize that their lives
/ behaviors / attitude need to change? These are very hard questions that cause
much heartache.
Please allow me to share with you this powerful reminder that I
heard many years ago while my children were yet small and I did not truly
understand this message from Pastor Jon Courson. Today, this message has become
my promise from God. It now gives me hope and the strength to wait on God! It
reminds me of God's Word and His promises towards my children! It gives me the
chance to fully understand this message and apply it to my heart.
Please take 10 minutes to listen to this message and mediate on
it until it becomes a hope and a promise for you! Then let it resonate within
your heart until it comes to pass.
