Let Us walk in the Spirit of the Living God
Don’t
you know that you are the tabernacle of God who now dwells within you, for this
is the New Covenant?
Do you understand the full concept of the power of God’s
Spirit in you?
Let’s read Romans 12 to
understand just how much of a conqueror we are and should be walking in this
truth.
Get out your pencil and circle the areas that you need to pray about, so
that you can be all that God has intended you to be, as you continue to Walk in the Spirit of the Living God!
A Living Sacrifice to God
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let us be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Let us not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect!

How powerful this truth
is to you! The words that jump out are:
1. strive to be a living and holy sacrifice
2. please God
3. desire a true worship of the Living God in
spirit and in truth
4. let God transform your mind – daily
5. daily learn God’s will for you
Wow, you have the Spirit
of the Living God within you that provides the power needed to do God’s perfect
will. Whatever it is that He is calling you to do, it is finished. You are more
than able to do His work for His Spirit is with you. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out
with as much faith as God has given you.
If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a
teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is
giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the
responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to
others, do it gladly.
Romans 8 explains the Spirit of God so beautifully
‘So now there
is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death
Those who are dominated
by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by
the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So
letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the
Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the
sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it
never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their
sinful nature can never please God.
Let me put this
challenge out to you for the remainder of the week.
Take a pencil and some
paper and go to your quiet place. Take a deep breath and clear your mind.
Invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you, then just be still for 5 minutes. As
the Spirit speaks jot down what you sense and hear.
Do not let the flesh get
in the way by trying to decipher what the Spirit is saying, for the flesh can
not witness to the Spirit.
For you are the child of
God, therefore learn to hear the voice of Your Father. Keep practicing
listening for His voice and allow Him to have an open communication line with
you.
Another wonderful
scripture in Romans about the Holy Spirit
is:
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.
For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit
prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what
the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and
are called according to his purpose for them.
For God knew his people in advance, and he chose
them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to
him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And
having given them right standing, he gave them His glory.”
Therefore, give ear to
the Holy Spirit and practice diligently to be still and listen carefully for
His still small voice. As a child
of God, you have the right to be in His presence continually. You have His
power to make a difference in your own personal world, because you have the ability
to pray and be able to move God’s heart.
You have the Spirit
of the Living God within you, so what will you do with it?
Read the parable of the Three Servants in Matthew 25:14-30 and share it with God.
My co-worker and I talk about "the Living Word" all the time, and how our daily devotionals and emails somehow hit home right when we need to hear what God is saying to us.
ReplyDeleteToday was a fantastic example of that.
I really needed to hear what was in the post--and I needed to hear it this morning very much. Thank you my friend for being a channel for His word.
Love you!!
