A Glorious Christmas Gift
Let
us worship and reflect on our Glorious Christmas Gift,
This Christmas story begins on a clear night out in the country where an angel of the Lord came and stood before shepherds that were living out in the fields keeping watch over their flock. As the glory of the Lord shone around them, the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring good news of great joy which will be to all people”.
There is born to you this day in the city of
David a Savior, named Jesus, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You
will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.”
And suddenly the heavens opened and there was a multitude of the
heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
We celebrate every year this gift that was given to all
people of all color and all races and it should be a time of family,
friendships, love and grace towards one another. A time of peace and goodwill
towards all.
This Babe was God’s gift to us for the forgiveness of our
sins, that through this child many would become friends of God by receiving
this glorious gift and have their hearts and mind cleanse from the pollution of
sin in this fallen world.
This Christmas story continues in the Garden of Gethsemane
where our precious gift will prepare Himself to become the lamb that will
be slain for our sins to all who believe that God so loved the world that He
gave this gift, which God calls His Son, Jesus.
Somehow this amazing story gets lost every year during this
glorious season when we should be celebrating this truth.
The story does not end here! God still loves the world and
Jesus is still a savior to this world. Today more than ever before, this world
needs Jesus! Many are seeking ways to find deliverance from drugs, alcohol and
all kinds of addictions, others need to find forgiveness and peace in their
lives. So many need to hear the truth about God and how much He loves them!
Especially during this time of the year when so many loved ones are hurting,
lost, discouraged and without hope.
Let us remember what this season is really about! And remind
your family and friends what Christmas really is all about!
