What Is The Holy Spirit

Image
“Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me .”    Psalm 51:11 So often I hear someone talking about how they cannot overcome this or that and I ask why not? And I wonder if they have ever heard of the power of God dwelling inside of them. The Spirit of the Living God that will teach them all things, gives strength, comfort, understanding, wisdom, victory and so much more.  Let’s listen to this precious melody    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHuTFknAFTM I would like to ask these questions, but do not think of it as silly, rather chew on it for a moment. ·         What is the Holy Spirit? ·         Do you have the Holy Spirit? ·         What must I do to receive the Holy Spirit? ·         Is it active in your life? Together let’s find answers for these questions from the Bible. What is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is the power of God living in you . It is yours just like salvation is yours! The Spirit of God is your Teacher

Is There A Place Called Hell?

Image
Have you ever wondered about Hell ? What is Hell?  Why is there a Hell ? These are excellent questions and there is only one place that has the answers that we seek in this life, The Bible. Yes! The bible is our lifeline. It was given to instruct   on how God wants you to live this life. To correct,  because like children, we lose your way. To protect  you from the things that God hates, which will only hurt us, and to provide  us with the Words from God's own heart and His good counsel, as you are reminded of His love and the perfect plan that He has for you! So, is there really a place called  Hell ? Yes! Let's read about a man who describes   hell and wants to warn his family about this place. Luke16:19-31 Jesus said, “There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate laid a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. As Lazarus laid there longing for scraps from the rich man’s tab

Issues of the Heart – Secret Sins

Aww such sweet melody, check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8gKXu6J2wE   I am excited about writing this piece, because I lived this life and was set free from the double life that I had been living. I have talked about this before on this blog. In which I shared about a time in my life when I carried a secret sin for a very long time. At first, I didn’t want to put it away. Then when I finally was sick and tired of it and wanted to get away from it, I quickly found out the hard way, just how strong the hold of this sin was in my life.  I honestly could not break away from it. Not for a lack of not wanting to, but because the force and the hold it had on me was stronger than me. The many times that I did walk away from it, I only came back to it again and again. This madness, guilt and shame became a heavy burden and too much to carry. I was in bondage and did not realize that I was now a slave and the sin was my master. So with that opening, I want to let you know t

The God Most High

Image
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness;  for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. Psalm 138:2       Enjoy this wonderful song.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyRQMqYrSg0 The compound name “ El Elyon ” means the 'God Most High'. El means “God” and Elyon means “High, or most High.” You can find it in Genesis  14:18-22 used by Abraham when making an oath. The only other occurrence of God called “El Elyon” is in  Psalm 78:35 : Then they remembered that God was their rock, that God Most High was their redeemer. As I continue to share some of the different names of God from the Old Testament, I find it amazing how much detail, meaning and honor the Hebrew nation took when choosing names. Some bible examples could be: Leah   G enesis 29:32 So Leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, “The  Lord  has noticed my misery, and now my husba

Queen Vashti or Queen Esther

Image
This writing is particularly a different view which I want to share. As women, we have come a long way from the days of our mothers and grandmothers. We have choices, freedom, ideas, etc. Yes indeed, we have come “a long way, baby”. So, with that thought, allow me to share something that I have seen and it causes me to think about the story of Queen Vashti.  Let’s look at Esther 1: 9-12 together; Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus.   On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine,  he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people  and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very
