This message has been on my heart since the Texas hurricane that struck on August 25, 2017. I struggled with writing this, as I asked myself why? And the reason is, I am fearful that many would not want to hear this truth. 

The writing that I do is my way of reaching many that may not know that the answers they seek are in the bible and to encourage us to find out what God’s Word has to say.

The Bible is God’s words to us for instruction, for guidance in what God's plans are & for salvation (because we are all sinners in need of a saviour & the wonderful work that Jesus did at calvary for the sinner who believes). 
We don’t have to trust in astrology nor what science books say about creation or anything else, when you have God’s own heart speaking to you through His Word.

I want to share with you this portion of scripture and I pray that you will ask God to give you understanding and clarity. Seek His face and know for yourself what God’s future plans are so that you may have understanding of the things to come and not be fearful nor deceived. For many will be deceived by false teachers.

Shortly after Hurricane Harvey hit Florida, there was a woman at the workplace that said, she heard that the “end of the world was coming.” 
I thought, "No, she is mistaken, for this is just the beginning." And I knew I needed to share this message with others. So, here I am.

Let’s look at Matthew 24 as the disciples ask Jesus the age old question, “When will these things happened and what are the signs”?

As humans, it is difficult to trust and believe, so it makes sense, to ask for signs to help us believe. Our Living God knows this and has not only given us His Word to read and believe, but has given us His Holy Spirit that will teach us all His truth (John 16:12-13). In the bible, God has given us a timeline of events with signs that you can read about.

Let’s pray

Father, may you give us an ear to hear what Your spirit is saying to all who will hear. Give us eyes to see and a heart to believe Your Word,

In Jesus’ name we all pray.
Before we start, I want you to picture yourself sitting by Jesus in a group with family & friends at the Mount of Olives. As Jesus is teaching, someone asks for more revelation about future events. Matthew 24 3-8

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,

saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign

of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.  For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.  And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

HEART QUESTIONS

(1)  How does this speak to you today?

(2)  Does this make you fearful? Why or why not?

(3)  Are you ready to share this truth with others who may be afraid or do not understand?

(4)  Do you have faith and hope for what is to come?

(5)  Are you ready for the beginning of sorrows?

Let’s Pray

Father, may we draw close to you as days will become darker and the heart of many will become cold. Lord, give us a heart of understanding and childlike faith to believe as we continue to read verses 9 – 13.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Lord, you are the One True Living God, may we continue to pray for our homes, our country, our leaders and your church.
