Born Crucified
I want to ask, would you be interested
at looking a bit more closely at the message of the Cross? There is a wonderful little book called
"Born Crucified" that will take us on a journey that will cause us to examine ourselves and our heart.
Will you consider joining me on this journey? Please pray about this project and let us come and see what wonderful new work the Lord has for us this new year.
I suggest that you google the book
excerpt to see if this would be a book study that you may be interested in
doing? I would write a short study on each chapter,
perhaps every other week so that together we would allow the Holy Spirit to
take us a little deeper into understanding the work done at the Cross.
What do
you think?
If
interested, also consider buying a used copy of the book (Ebay, $4.99 used) or
(like me) download it for $1.99 as an EBook from Amazon. I'm excited to have
you come along!
"For the
message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to
us who are being saved it is the power of God" 1 Corinthians 1:18
The Road to The Cross
The Key is The Cross.
Salvation is found at The Cross.
Forgiveness of our sins is found at The
Cross. Deliverance is found at The
Cross. Victory is found at The Cross.
Are
you like me and only thought of The Cross
as the place where I found Jesus and Salvation? For me, the mention of The Cross, triggers in my mind’s eye an
image of Jesus hanging on The Cross. The truth is, that picture was
only the beginning of a perfect plan for whosoever would dare to pick up their
cross to follow Jesus!
If you were asked about The Cross and what it means, what do you
say?
After reading the book Born Crucified, I began to have a
better understanding of The Cross and
its benefits, its power and its cost. I thought of how many others like myself
do not fully grasp the heart of The
Cross?
The rich blessing of having that closer walk with God
through the power of The Cross and
its victory, challenged me to seek to understand more of what it means to be
Born Crucified. I want to take you on
this journey with me, as together we learn about the heart of God and His desire
for those who seek to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Luke
9:23
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me”
There is a closeness with God when we begin to “pick up our cross and follow Him”. As we build up our spiritual inner man by letting go of our fleshly desires, we begin to understand the Cross and to pick it up. The Cross is the beginning of dying to ourselves which we have been commanded to do daily.
“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me”
Why
would Jesus make this profound statement?
What
cross am I to pick up daily, that I may follow Him?
What does Jesus mean to deny yourself?
In your own words, write out your thought on these questions

I want to invite you to come with me, and together let us
mature in God’s Word as we glean from the book Born Crucified by L. E. Maxwell.
What a glorious time we will have learning to pick up our cross and follow “The One” who began and finished the work at The Cross.

Let’s Look Closer
We know that Sin means “to
miss the mark,” and these things need to be recognized and dealt with. Once we
nail them to the Cross we will begin
to have victory over them. It’s a process and the truth shall set you free.
Remember that we are working on ourselves. We need to consider our attitude, old habits, secret sin, anything left over from our old nature.

Write out your list of what
you will be nailing to the Cross. You need to be honest with yourself.
We all struggle, and we all
fall short of the glory of God. Let us always remember to praise Jesus for the
work He did at the Cross.
Write out a
short praise for the wonderful work He has done in you.

Galatians 2:20
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live;
yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me”.
Romans
6:3
“Know
ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into
also his death”?
