The Secret Of Victory Over Sin

The Power of Sin
Too many Christians live their spiritual walk on a teeter-totter. After sitting in church and hearing the Word of God our spiritual man is encouraged and empowered to live for Jesus. We have been renewed in our hearts and mind and washed by the Word of God.
Then on Monday, we slowly begin to fall back into our casual walk with God. We are not moved by conviction of how close to the world we are or how much like the world we think. By mid-week study,
we are in dire need of refueling our heart and mind with the heavenly Word of God that will propel us to once again, live totally and radically for the Lord. We are refreshed and determined to live and obey God with a sincere desire to live a holy life and to conquer the foxes which are hidden in our heart.

Let’s begin with this question. Does this describe your walk in Christ?

In 2 Peter 3:18 we are instructed to continue to grow in Christ.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris”
There is power in the Cross after salvation. We are called “more than overcomers” yet we are not growing into that knowledge. Why do you think this may be true?

Let’s look closer at Ephesians 5:25-27
Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

What is the message of the Cross that you see from this scripture?
The Secret of Victory Over Sin
The focal point to the book Born Crucified, is to cause you to see and understand that there is so much more of God’s blessings in the Cross.
Walking according to the flesh is not living a victorious life. The truth is that we have yet to comprehend the victory done on the Cross.
In this chapter we read of the power that we have to:
·       Overcome the world – John 16:32-33
Who is with Jesus? Who is with you?

What can keep you from overcoming the world?

To overcoming the flesh - Romans 8:1-8.

From verses 5-8, what are the differences of walking in the flesh versus walking in the Spirit?

Why is it important to have this truth in your heart?

Romans 6 reminds and encourages us that we are to die daily to our fleshly desires. This is what being born crucified is aboutWe have the responsibility to die daily to our flesh. We see the commitment Jesus took upon Himself to redeem us from sin therefore, the Believer also has a commitment to God.

Write out Galatians 5:24

Why should you begin to practice freedom from the flesh?

Write out your thoughts about this chapter.

How did this Chapter speak about your participation in the crucifixion?

1 Peter 4:1-2

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God”.
Let us come and reason with God and confess these spots and wrinkles that steal our joy and peace with God.
Write a prayer

Meditate on this truth:
“The closer I draw to the Cross the less of me shall God see”.
