I'm Called "Friend"

·         Matthew 26:50 (NLT)
Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.”

·         Matthew 26:50 (KJV)
And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come?

 ·         Matthew 26:50 Complete Jewish Bible
Yeshua said to him, “Friend, do what you came to do.”

In any translation of this passage you will see the word “friend’ which is how Jesus addressed Judas.

That word caught my eye and I began to think of how beautifully Jesus behaved towards the one that would betray Him.

It brings me to tears to realize just how much God and Jesus love this world, even with all its hate towards the things of God! That's amazing love!
True simple and pure love is what He offers the world...

·         At our worse, God so loved the world that He gave…

John 3:16 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed.

·        While we were yet sinners ….

Romans 5:8 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in that the Messiah died on our behalf while we were still sinners.

God’s Story 4 Mankind

·         Matthew 1:20-24 New Living Translation (NLT)

As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for He will save his people from their sins.”
All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.”

·         Matthew 1:20-24 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

But while he was thinking about this, an angel of Adonai appeared to him in a dream and said, “Yosef, son of David, do not be afraid to take Miryam home with you as your wife; for what has been conceived in her is from the Ruach HaKodesh. She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Yeshua, [which means ‘Adonai saves,’] because he will save his people from their sins.”
All this happened in order to fulfill what Adonai had said through the prophet,
“The virgin will conceive and bear a son,
and they will call him ‘Immanu El.”
(The name means, “God is with us.”)
