Tis The Season

As the cold air blows and the rain and snow begins to fall we are reminded that its that time of the year again.

Many are planning trips back home or joining family getting together to celebrate the reason for the season.

We need to be mindful that the holidays are a tough time for many families, the elderly and so many others that struggle alone throughout the year. I ask you to please say a prayer for them even though we may not know them. Take time out from your schedule to remember someone you know that is alone and think of something good towards them .. a prayer, a visit, a token of appreciation, a kind word over tea or anything else that comes to mind.

In a country where we have so much, we have yet to learn how to give of ourselves to another who is in need of our time, some fellowship or just a big hug!

I think of how many families will be divided this season because someone hasn't the courage to say "I'm sorry". Its only two (2) small words that can make a big difference when we say them in sincerity. We can stop division and separation when we humble ourselves. It begins with and ends with you.

Let's take a look at Colossian 3:13 where we are reminded that we must forgive one another.
Colossians 3:13  (NLT)
Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you … so you must forgive others

Let us examine our heart to see if there is any bad thoughts towards another.
We have to be real with ourselves and ask God to help us with this issue.

Here are some other words that strongly reflect our bad thoughts:
ill will
animosity
hostility
resentment
hard feelings
bitterness

It's time to make things right and it begins with us. Let us reunite with loved ones, friends and family. Let us be examples to our children and their children of how a family loves through the good times and the tough times and forgives ... Just as God has done for us and continues to do for us.

Let's shower our family with love, grace and forgiveness.....  After all "Tis is the Reason for the Season"
