V1 “The proverbs (sayings) of Solomon son of David, king of Israel”
V2 (purpose of reading scripture is)
“For gaining wisdom and instruction; and for understanding & discernment (ability to see & understand)
V3 “for receiving instruction in prudent (showing thought for future) behavior and speech, Also for doing what is right and just (honest) and fair;
V4 for giving prudence (cautious/sound doctrine) to those who are simple, And knowledge and discretion (how to behave & speak) to the young.
Let’s Check Yourself
A simple person is honest and authentic. They don't have hidden agendas or motives. They are easy to be around, as you never have to worry about their true intentions. They say what they mean and mean what they say, but never in a hurtful way.
