WORD 4 TODAY - “Wisdom”

proverbs 1:8-9

“My child, listen when your father corrects you. Don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace and be a chain of honor around your neck”.

Here Solomon begins chapter 1 with insight on “wisdom.”
Humans need wisdom, for no one what’s to be looked at as a fool. But there are different kinds of wisdom.
Such as, street wise, worldly wisdom, educational wisdom, your own wisdom and God’s wisdom.

Verses 1-7 speaks of God’s wisdom and its importance and its beginning. Check it out!

Sound Wisdom should begin at home. But not everyone had godly parents. Parents should teach & provide good wisdom in the home.

Verses 8 & 9 tells us that wisdom and good counsel from parents should be respected and honor, for it would serve you well.
Solomon describes parents instructions as of great
value, exquisite jewelry, beautiful and delicate ornaments!

We all enjoy looking the best we can when out about with friends, family etc. So let’s continue to put on Jesus, for we are His. As we continue to grow in our walk, let’s strive to walk in the wisdom from above, which is true, good and beautiful.

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere”.
           James 3:17

  1. It's difficult to possess all the traits of wisdom that comes from above, even a few, n I'm only speaking of myself, but those traits are well worth striving to achieve.

  2. Amen. We keep striving to be more like Jesus and less of ourselves, right?

  3. Exactly! That's what we're supposed to do but it's very hard for me to do. I don't mean to be negative, I'm just speaking my truth.

    1. So very true, that on our own we can not change into more of Jesus.
It takes the working of the Holy Spirit to transform our old nature into His.
What our part is in this transformation is to keep asking for more and more of Him as we let go of our flesh and our will.
The Holy Spirit will finish and complete the work that it has began in us, that is God’s promise to the believer.
So come Holy Spirit and fall afresh on your people over and over again.
We so desperately need You, amen!
