WORD 4 TODAY - “Worship”
Exercise & diet is good and recommendable for a strong
and healthy body. But listen to the Word of God.
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you
to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you!
Let your body be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind God
will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him!”
“Because of your anger, my whole body is
sick; my health is broken because of my sins.”
A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is
like cancer in the bones.
Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy
for the body.
The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can
bear a crushed spirit?
So, refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy.
“So, if your eye, even your good eye, causes you to lust,
gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of
your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
And if your hand, even your stronger hand, causes you to
sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of
your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for
your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled
with light.
But when
your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness.
And if the light you think you have is actually darkness,
how deep that darkness is!
“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body;
they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul
and body in hell.
It’s not what goes into your body that defiles
you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”
Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to
temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
Do not let any part of your body become an
instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God,
for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your
whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not
belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God
with your body.
Wow, so many of these scriptures are describing n speaking directly to me, especially Psalm 38:3, among many others that I have a problem with. These are words I need to remember and use. Thank you!
