Word 4 Today - “In Me”

          John 16:33

“These things I have spoken unto you, that “In Me”           ye might have peace.

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

“These things I have spoken unto you”,

(Here Jesus is saying that this WORD which I speak to you is for your benefit.. pay attention)..

“that “In Me” ye might have peace.”

(“My peace” Jesus is saying, I give to you)..
This is a blessing as well as a gift. The world does not have this! And the world can not know this peace that Jesus is talking about. Because it comes from God and you must believe that God is who He says He is; therefore only those who BELIEVE have “My Peace”.

“In the world ye shall have tribulation”

Wow, why are we then so troubled when things come our way?
Have you not heard that these (trials, illnesses, sorrows, temptations, etc), will come to you?

James 1:2-4 gives us the reason for these tribulations. Let’s read.

“count it all joy when ye fall into much temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James is teaching us that those tribulations which we do not like! is to test your FAITH and it also is teaching you PATIENCE.

“But Why,” you ask?

First God wants you to see your own heart, and to learn to trust God. It is in those times of struggles, that we learn to lean on Him and it benefits you because trials produces patience and your faith is increased.

Secondly, God’s plan for you is to have you spiritually mature and be complete in Him.
Therefore, as children we will learn who is God and also to trust Him in all things. It is for your benefit to  go through temptations, trials and struggles AND to count it all joy, as you grow and mature!

Now Jesus gives us a WORD of encouragement!

“but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”

Amen!
Thank you Holy Spirit for this timely reminder that we walk by faith and not by sight!

  1. As we are studying “joy” from the book of Philippians, I marvel on how the believer has a totally different perspective while going through difficulties, than the world. It’s all because of Jesus!
