Letter From A Mother

Well Son, you are no longer my little man but rather a man who was raised in the ways of the Lord.

Your perspective and your actions will be contrary to the ways of this world.

This is a good thing, and it will let you know that you are on the right path!

Your focus will now change from all about “me, money and what I want” to … what is best for us.

Your hearing as you pointed out will also change. The things that you once heard and listened to will not be as important as what your family needs are and what they are saying to you. The words of your wife and child will be much more useful, helpful and of more value to you.

Your sense to protect and care will be heightened because this is the role that is meant for you as the head of your home.

I know that you will become a wise father and good husband, because your Heavenly Father has been your example since birth. Live and walk in the ways that you were taught as a child and pass those things of Faith onto your children.

Continue on this new journey as a “father” with courage and confidence because you are a child of God.
Love you,
Mom

A Call for Wholehearted Commitment
Deuteronomy 6:1-8

These are the commands, decrees, and regulations that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you.
You must obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, and you and your children and grandchildren must fear the Lord your God as long as you live. If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life.

Listen closely, Israel, and be careful to obey. Then all will go well with you, and you will have many children in the land flowing with milk and honey, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.

Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.

Repeat them again and again to your children.
Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
