To All Who Are Running The Race

Image
PRESSING TOWARD THE GOAL Philippians 3:13-14 Paul said that he as forgetting  the past and reaching forward to the future.  It is awfully difficult to move forward when you are looking backward. Many people are hindered in their progress because they are always looking at the past, either hung up by their failures, or bitter against those who have hurt them, or resting on the laurels of their past successes.  I want to look forward to what God is going to do in the future, and I believe our best days are ahead of us. As Paul talked about pressing "toward the goal for the prize," I think of how runners in distance races hold a certain amount of energy back for that final lap and their finishing kick.  That is how I want to live my life. I am getting older and I have the finish line in sight.  Now is the time for me to turn on my final kick and give it everything l've got. I'm pressing forward, leaning into the tape! No time to look back!

“Legacy”

Run Your Race We all know it - life isn’t easy.  Sometimes challenges can arise that are so difficult we may want to throw in the towel.  Whether it's an overwhelming circumstance, the demands of family life, or the pressures of work, it can feel like it's just too much.  When we find ourselves wanting to quit, the book of Hebrews gives us a powerful encouragement to hold onto: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."  Hebrews 12:1 NIV “Witnesses” refer to believers who have gone before us, those whose lives are a testament of faithfulness to God. Their presence reminds us that we're part of a larger story, a legacy of faith that spans generations. This scripture also urges believers to "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles."  Hindrances may be easy

Experiences Far Exceeds Stories

Image
It shall come to pass. Our walk in the Lord is as of people in the OT. We do experience the life of David, Samuel, Gideon and YES, even the Shunem woman! I am a firm believer that I have experienced many of the OT stories in my life! PRAY. Jeremiah 32:27  “I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world.  Is anything too hard for me?” 7/9/2024 Checking in to let you know that I'm okay.  I was on some really good meds and was feeling good. Now I am back to normal and will need to stay down, listen to the nurses and do the work. This is the scripture that the Lord gave me today. Psalms 46:10 "Be still and know that I Am God"  " I will be exalted among the nations,  l will be exalted in the earth" I am not home but at Dianna’s for awhile. Psalm 17:8  "Keep me as the apple  of Your eye;  Hide me  under the shadow of Your wings" That Word from God brings comfort and hope, that all things will be okay!  The Spanish & Women's prayer/studies wil

WORD 4 TODAY - “press”

Image
“Press” is to push hard, to force, to use power, to do all you can - Philippians 3:14  “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” You have been set aside for God’s plan. God has called you to be His … (tool, minister, donkey) whatever you want to be called, rest assured that God has set you apart for “His pleasure”  (Philippians 2:13) “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” .. Let’s continue to press hard towards His call, that we should finish the race set before us! That is the ultimate goal job leon

Witness - Hebrews 12:1

“Witness” “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,  1. let us lay aside every weight,  2. and the sin which so easily ensnares us,  3. and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1 Think for a moment about those people who you know that have gone before you, walking in the light. Light is used to expose, shine attention to; What can easily ensnare you to turn from doing what is right? Well, for me it’s “pride”. I have struggled with this since I first learned about it.  The Bible teaches that God hates “pride” therefore, I should too. For now, I see myself working on this wrong attitude and ugly behavior (pride), because I can finally see it in me, and I want to change it so that going forward I can recognize it. For this reason I am confessing it now. “Father, thank you for allowing your children to recognize what needs to be changed. Attitudes and bad behaviors come from our own wicked heart Jeremiah 17:9 …. “The hea

Beware - John 6:45

Who do you listen to? Who are you following? Is it based on the true living Word from God? John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’  Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

Choose Ye This Day

WORD 4 TODAY               Psalm 119:30 “I have chosen to be faithful;  I have determined to live by your regulations” Have you made a conscious decision to follow God’s ways? Let’s keep in mind, that HIS ways are not like the world’s nor like what we think they should be!  His standards (ways) are good, just and perfect. That is why it makes sense to want to walk in His ways. Remember, you will serve somebody … will it be the world?  Your flesh?  Or His ways? We are so blessed that we can make our own decisions. We are not robots, therefore, be wise in your daily conduct and speech and how you walk. job Leon

There Will Be Fruit

Saturday, 7/20/2024 Psalm 1:1-4 “ Oh, the joys of those who do not      follow the advice of the wicked,      or stand around with sinners,      or join in with mockers. 2  But they delight in the law of the  Lord ,      meditating on it day and night. 3  They are like trees planted along the riverbank,      bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither,      and they prosper in all they do”      WORD 4 TODAY  Masterpieces in Process There’s a verse in Proverbs that’s often quaintly quoted when referring to a close friendship or marriage… “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”  Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Yes, we want to encourage each other, cheer each other on, and sharpen each other emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  But when you truly think about the implications of such a description, this verse is anything but quaint.  Iron is sharpened through heat and friction, through cutting and slicing.  As it is beaten, it is reshaped into something beautiful

The Spirit of The Lord

This is the scripture that the Lord gave me today. Psalms 46:10 "Be still and know that I Am God"  " I will be exalted among the nations,  l will be exalted in the earth" Psalm 17:8  "Keep me as the apple  of Your eye;  Hide me  under the shadow of Your wings" The Word from God brings comfort and hope, that all things will be okay!  The Spanish & Women's prayer/studies will continue! The spiritual war that we have been studying is now being revealed to us.  We can read the book this year but it becomes reality when you can see it for yourself. I am praying as we get ready to share God's truth next week on spiritual warfare. "Father, I ask for the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and courage by the power of the Holy Sprit to learn on the reality of the evil vs good that we are seeing worldwide.  This fight is real and we need to know and understand it as it only causes divisions, hatred and murder, rebellion & confusion.
