Developing a Forgiving Character
Pursuing forgiveness, not just as an act, not just as a response to a particular troublesome person, But as a character trait, is a goal for many people.
Christians out of gratitude for all God has done to bless us want to honor God by reflecting His character.
We are like mirrors that catch the rays of the sun and reflect them into dark places. We follow this path towards virtue (good) as we find ruts, side trails that lead us into the bushes, landmarks that allow us to evaluate our progress and even obstructions that block our way and makes wide parts of the trails that shows progress in relationships, and even bridges that must be crossed.
The way of forgiveness is hard. Forgiveness isn’t for wimps! In many ways that destructive path of unforgiveness is easier than the tough steep hill of forgiveness! Still, if we follow forgiveness, we will become more loving.
