WORD 4 TODAY - “Put on Jesus”

Image
Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,  and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need” 1. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else,  (this reminds us to daily keep our eyes and mind on heavenly things.  We live on earth and with all its distractions, chaos and confusion. But these things must not change our perspective, (which is God first)… 2. and live righteously,  (we are children of God, therefore we are to live like Jesus.  a. Show kindness … b. Show patience … c. Show good to others d. Show love! The world so desperately needs to see what love looks like… e. Above all else, let’s show forgiveness … We should be doing this daily with strangers, neighbors & coworkers …. As well as in our homes! 3. And then God … will give you everything you need” Let’s put on Jesus!

Fruit of the Spirit - “LOVE “

Image
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. How true this scripture is! Children do as they see their parents do. Therefore, as children of God, we too want to do as our Father does .. Let’s start with the fruit of His spirit … Gal 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  1. Love - do you love as your Father loves?  “For God so loved the world, that He gave .. Love is “giving  ourselves for another.” It can be going the extra mile .. it can be giving up your own way for the sake of unity, peace, etc When you can easily say “I love you” without thinking about it … could this be that you have surrendered to “love” and can feel that true emotion towards another?   Check yourself ….. “For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?  Do not even the tax collectors do the same” Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

WORD 4 TODAY - “Wisdom”

Image
James 3:13 Beware that you are not wise in your own understanding, but rather be humble and wise in the things that truly matter. “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom” To walk humbly is something that does not come easily. We need to strive to be better! amen

Let’s Grow Up

Image
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think! Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect”        Romans 12:2 This is what growing up is about. When we were children we behaved as children ….  When we were young adults trying to find our way, we learned about making decisions that may or may not had been right.  We then understood the consequences of our decisions! Then as we enter into relationships, we now learned to think of others before ourselves, and learn to lay down our selfish ways. Growing and changing is God’s way of transforming us. Let God have His way in your life, that you may be fruitful, blessed and have the Peace of God.   amen

Your Name 4 God

Image
As our study group has been on this journey of understanding the various names of God, I am reminded that it is us (the human) who see God’s character and tries to describe it by giving it a name and making a memorial at the place where God met us. Like Abraham when God provided the ram in the bush in place of Issac having to be the sacrifice. Abraham trusted God on that journey to go sacrifice Issac, just as God instructed him. After the testing of Abraham’s heart, God was pleased with Abraham’s faithfulness. The ram was found in the bush and Abraham used it, in the place of Issac.  Abraham called that place “Jehovah Jireh” which means “God Will Provide”. God has called each of us “to come to the altar and place our sacrifice” upon it.  Ok, let’s examine ourselves: 1) What did you do when God asked you to “come and sacrifice?” 2) Did your attitude change? 3) Did you place your sacrifice on the altar? 4) Did your sacrifice please God? 5) What name would you give God after that experien

Rejoice

Rejoice in the LORD always.  Again I say rejoice Philippians 4:4 “ Live in the present” seems to be the message.  Our faith gives us so much to be grateful for! Celebrate the presence of the Lord today while it’s still day … leaving behind the past .
