My Thoughts on Being A Grandma

I now have an answer to your question about how does it feel to be a grandma?

Having the chance to watch Camila that night gave me a sense of “belonging”.  

I felt a few emotions that weren’t there before. Such as:

I felt “alive”, because I have a little one that needs me. 

I also felt like a part of a family again. This may sound strange, but it’s true. These feelings or emotions are new and I feel “new and alive”.

As if I now have a purpose in my life. In life, I’m not just taking up room and air to breathe, but I have a reason to be here and that feels good and different.

Well, that’s my answer and I think that now I can understand what the other single moms would say about their grandkids. You really do love them differently.

But I believe that is true for me because my kids are grown and don’t really need me to nurture them or raise them up. 

But it’s different with Camy because I just need to be there for her and love her. That’s all.

I also get a chance to teach Camy about the wonderful things of God. This is the legacy that I want to leave to my family; 

1)To know the Most High God for themselves, 

2) to read and understand The Word of God so that they can hide it in their heart,

3) to teach them God’s way!

For me this is very important now and I have a sense of urgency within me, more so, than when I was teaching my children. Being older and wiser I can teach Camy about God so much more clearly.

I pray that God will use me to teach her about His love and sacrifice. Truth is that without God we have no hope. And I want Camy to have hope, faith, love and her own walk with God.

Well I hope you can understand my thoughts. I’m in love once again and that changes everything for me!
