The Peacemaker

Image
God Says  “Blessed Are The Peacemakers”                                       Matthew 5:9   Enjoy this awesome worship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ohvhmGSfxI In relationships you will always have opportunities to be the peacemaker, because too often everyone wants to be right, so we can’t seem to agree to disagree. How many relationships have been broken because there isn’t a peacemaker? Siblings have lost one another over trivial arguments, children won’t speak to parents because of something of the past, marriages have been broken due to unforgiveness, co-workers can not tolerate one another because of gossip, and it goes on and on.   Matthew 5:9 reads , God blesses those who work for peace,             for they will be called the children of God So like the words of Rodney King back in 1992, when he shouted to all the world, “ Why can’t we just all get along”?   The answer is simple. There isn’t anyone  willing  to set aside themselve

Issues of the Heart – Pride

Image
Let us bow down and worship our Lord https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcnfT4arZtI In our introductory study on the issues of the Heart, we caught a glimpse of the greed and covetousness in the heart of Gehazi. We were able to understand that these issues were already within his heart, and we watched them begin to spring forth at the opportune time. Issues of the heart, we might say, are those issues deep within our heart that we may or may not realize are there. For example, I know that I struggle with pride . I now understand why God so hates pride . It really is self, lifted up as an idol.   Proverbs 6:16-19     There are six things the  Lord  hates—     no, seven things he detests:     haughty eyes ,  ( pride)     a lying tongue, (lying)     hands that kill the innocent,  (murder)     a heart that plots evil,  (wicked heart)     feet that race to do wrong, (wickedness)     a false witness who pours out lies, ( dishonesty)     a person who sows discord in a fami

A Parable

LUKE  15:13-24     cut and past this song of promise and hope!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8TkUMJtK5k “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.   About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve.   He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs.   The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.   “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger!   I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,   and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’   “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a

2 Kings 5:20-25,  2 Kings 8:4-5 In the previous account of the Shunamite Woman, we saw Gehazi used by God to discern the true desire of her heart. We can also say that he was a good and trusted companion of Elisha.   So many times we walk with God believing that we are good and faithful companions of Him. I’ve learned that I must keep myself in check. This includes above all, my heart. Oh, how deceivingly wicked it is and honestly I do not understand my heart. God’s gentle and kind Holy Spirit has been dealing with me about “ I need to examine my heart, to see if there is any wicked way in me,”   for God knows all that is in my heart. Psalm 139:1-3 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down And are acquainted with all my ways. How difficult it is to heart His small still voice, His Holy Spirit, chastening me and urging me to deal with an issue

Open My Mouth, O Lord

Without each other, we can not walk this journey encouraged and full of joy.       My prayer is that we continue to pray for our families, the church, our country & its leaders. I sincerely pray that the Holy Spirit will greatly move in these difficult times bringing unity and peace within our borders.  We can all see the signs of the times, as Jesus told us in Matthew 24:3-8.    Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you,   for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, the
