God Has Left Me - Chapter 8

Image
Have you ever experienced times when you felt alone and questioned if God is with you?  Keep these verses close to your heart during these storms in your life.  "For we walk by faith, not by sight.                                            2 Corinthians 5:7 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."                                                                         Proverbs 18:24 This morning I found this lady crying   At The Well.   I had seen her there before and did not need to know her name to see that her spirit has been crushed and her heart broken. I had not seen her two children and I thought that maybe one of them was ill, so as I drew closer to her, I asked about them.   She looked up with tears running down her cheeks and explains that our judicial court system has given full custody of her children to their Dad. She has lost all hope, all trust and faith

One Day In Heaven - Chapter 7

Image
Have you woken up in the morning feeling so refreshed and without pain? Your knees feel pretty good and your hip isn’t stiff? You feel like you can do anything today and begin to wonder, "Well how am I going to use this awesome day"? For those of us who come from the hippy era of the 60’s, you may very well understand this next story about “ the aches and pain ” that we will continue to have them on this journey. As we continue to age we are reminded that our body is but a tent that is too quickly wearing out. Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor Him in your youth before you grow old and no longer enjoy living. It will be too late then to remember Him, when the light of the sun and moon and stars are dim to your old eyes, and there is no silver lining left among the clouds.   Your limbs will tremble with age and your strong legs will grow weak. Your teeth will be too few to do their work and you will be blind too.    Ecc

My Hiding Place - Chapter 6

Image
I have returned to the  one place  I do not enjoy being at. This place  is not a place of refuge, but rather the opposite. Why am I back at  this place  where I do not like to be at? And how did I get back here? This place is:         A place  of anxiety.         A place  of restlessness all day and all night.         A place  of confusion.         A place  of without peace.         This place  has no time. Oh let me run to  The Well,  where I know that I can Find guidance and rest. There I will pour out my heart  At The Well  and I shall gather up Strength, then Joy And Hope as I have so many times before. After my heart has been filled and my soul satisfied, I will be Refreshed and Thankful for knowing such Love and Comfort. I will continue to come to  The Well , for I so love to be here! I can now look back and reflect on  that precious place   where I thought I did not  Enjoy being and I realize  the importan

A Stranger - Chapter 5

Image
At the Well,  I daily encounter all sorts of strangers. One special stranger whom I have watched come daily to  The Well  is a very fragile elderly woman. Her eyes are full of life,   but her body contradicts that picture. Her words are slow and soft, yet very kind. Her hands are spotted and weak, but she shows kindness to other elderly women by offering them her own strength. She begins to talk with them and makes them smile. Her thoughtfulness towards them gently reassures them. She reaches out her hand and her touch brings them comfort. She offers them a bond of trust and friendship. Here  At the Well , I learned a simple truth. This lovely stranger has so much compassion, patience and love for those who have long been forgotten. With her childlike behavior she reminds me that we need to care for one another and to slow down and learn from the elderly. They have so much that they can teach an open heart! The next time you come across
