  “El Elyon” is the Hebrew  name for God  meaning, “God Most High .” This term for God can be translated in two different ways: "the Most High God" or "God Most High." Either way, they mean the same thing. God is supreme and deserves all our focus, worship, and praise. “El Elyon” describes God as the One and Only Supreme Ruler who rules not only heaven and earth, but the entire universe and it is His desire to be the “God Most High” in your life. Isaiah 46:9-11 “Remember the things I have done in the past.  For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me .” There should not be anything “most high” in your life other than God. Anything other than ‘El Elyon” is sin! Keep in mind that God dealt harshly with Judah and then Israel for their idolatry! He tried to reason with His children by sending warnings and His prophets to help them to see their sin. But they had forsaken their 1 st love and turned to worshipping idols. Like Jonah, I tried running away from doing this study. My excuses (because we all have them) were many.  1) it's too hard for me to do,  2) I don't think the study would be very interesting to others 3) this study is too hard for me to understand, how then can I teach it? This is how the devil works against us and the work that God wants to do.  He will play with your mind and your emotions, trying very hard to make you feel as "you are not able to do God's work", and of course, making sure that you feel "insecure, overwhelmed and unworthy". This is the devil's role in the life of the child of God, who is about his/her Father's business! Do not think it strange. He's been against you and any work that God wants to do, from the beginning. When you give in to his bullying and begin to doubt yourself, then you are playing right into his hand. As we continue in the study on The Names of God, today we will learn of "El Roi". This is a Hebrew name for Yahweh / Jehovah, meaning the " God Who See Me ." You can find the story of Hagar, who by the way, was the woman who called God, 'El Roi" in Genesis 14 - 16. I found her story to be one that many of us can relate to, because she was a parent. Thank You, for the daily reminders of how much we love our Lord. Often, I forget how my fire once burned for Him, and now I long 2 come back to that place of being One with Him in my heart, spirit & mind. Must get back to my “secret place” and shut out all distractions and loud noises that steals away the joy of being in Your Presence O Lord. Life exists so that you can co-exist with God’s creation. Think of it as being in the garden of Eden, after the Fall.  You walk and talk with God, as Adam did. You have dominion over birds, fish, land and created things, as Adam did. God created the heavens and all things to bless you, as He did for Adam. All that God shared with Adam, He now shares with you. And all that Adam experienced, God wants you to experience too.
